With that assault rifle I would think you could use anything your heart desires but what are you painting I assume the back of your tank if you are why not look into paper or colored vinyl wall paper

When I painted my tank I taped paper to the opening, so not to get over spray in the tank. Then used I think 2-3 cans of spray paint. What color are you thinking of spraying it?

i used the little sample color cans from the hardware store. they go a long way and you don't have a huge can left over. but if you use a brush you'll probably have to do two coats to get rid of the brush marks.

I spray paint some of my tanks . I have a tank somewhat close to my culture stations and to block the light I painted three sides black .

I used a small smooth roller and black paint from the craft store. Needed two coats but it was very cheap and worked well for me.

I've always used dark blue fabric from Wal-Mart. It should be doubled, ironed and then I just run a piece of duct tape-1/2 on the fabric and 1/2 on the top, back edge of the tank.
