What is a good, inexpensive live sand...

Am going to put more sand in my tank... seeing how I already have "live sand", do you think it is better to us regular aragonite or use live sand... if you know of any inexpensive place where i can get this can you please tell me... that is besides SWF.com, good place to order from, its just that i don't need but about 20 lbs and on a budget... Heard of nature's ocean, if so please leave what you think about it and where u got it from... THANX

if you fortunate enough to live in near a home depot that carries"southdown play sand" you'll be able to acquire about 50 lbs. for less than $5.00 per bag. it's aragonite for way less than the reg price that you'll see at the lfs. if not, you'll have to settle for the lfs/ mailorder stuff.

It is very doubtful that you will find Southdown. You can use Quickrete Play Sand, I did and it works fine, However your live sand needs to be on top.

south down, is a good alternative, but, it is fine and powdery, i myself would prefer to use it only in a tank that is not yet established(really any aragonite), live sand would be better, i f you have any fish or inverts, it will cloud much less and have less potential of creating a spike or inbalance in your system
but if you have nothing in the tank, then yes i would use dry aragonite or southdown
