What is a Magna floater thing?

One side goes in the tank, the other side on the outside of the tank. move the part on the outside of the tank and the inside part will stay with it, the magnetic force holds them together if you don't jerk it to fast, it helps to scrap algae off of the glass.
If your pulling my leg, I'm going to shove a nudibranch up your nose.

But yeah that was a very dumb question. I always saw them but never knew what they did.

In that case get the large mag float, you will love it. I've had mine almost 2 years and it works great. If they come apart in the tank the inside part just floats up and is easy to grab and put back together.

I pull the velcro hook portion off my mag floats and put new pieces of the pile section in their place. I like the cleaning action of the pile better than the hook. I do keep one with hook on it for any possible scrubbing though.......I also put a piece of scrubber pad (green type) on a mag cleaner (non floater uses string to retrieve if it separates) for those times you need something better to scrub with.
