What is a Mantis Shrimp??

what the heck is this?? I have seen a few pics of them and heard they can crack glass or something, and they will eat other things, can someone please explain these things to me and just inform me about them??? thanks a bunch.:help:

Many say that they shoot darts, but so far I haven't found anything suggesting such. I did however see that they have two different types of appendages, clubs and

actually pierce the skin of soft body animals, while the clubs are meant to smash hardbodied prey, like crabs and snails. I think that there are actually two different types of mantis shrimp, the ones with clubs and the ones with
