Reef is definatly more like the wild and looks alot cooler. :jumping:

Live rock is pretty much a must but I don't know the benefits of a reef vs. FOWLR besides what type of fish you want to keep, some eat corals.

The L/R acts as a natural bio filter, so it is a definate plus.

l/r should be in any of the above, however imo reef is the most satisfying. I asked this same question at my lfs and they told me you might as well start with a reef tank because eventualy that what everybody ends up with

It would depend on the fish. Not all fish will do well in a reef environment and some do horrible without alot of rock.
