so far i haven't needed to dose anything b/c of water changes but down the road i may need to with the addition of more corals. What do you use for calcium and alk?
I use SeaChems Reef Advanage Calcium and Reef Builder. I follow the Bullet Proof Reef system by GARF. It is pretty simply to follow just go to there website there is a calculator for supplements depending upon your take size. It keeps my Calcium and Alkalinity right on target.
One of the more interesting discoveries about using this product is seeing how much calcium a 6" maxima & 5" crocea suck out of a tank each day.
.
I was dosing a growout tank with 60ml each of calcium and alkalinity daily, this was when both clams were in the tank. I moved the clams over to my DT and the growout tanks dosing dropped to 20ml per day. The DT tanks increased by 40ml......So both clams were using using 40ml per day, no wonder they were growing so darn fast.
