I have a condy anemone that I have kept for about a month now. He came (was grown) from a friends anemone that he's had for years. He has been doing great up until now. He has almost doubled in size and eats well. But as you can see by my attached picture he isn't doing so well anymore. He is in a tank with no nitrates, temp is about 76, salinity is 23, he is about in the middle of the tank so I am sure he is getting lots of light, he has a nice green sheen as well. I have a clam and mushrooms that have been in the tank for at least three to four months and they don't seem at all affected. No one has sprayed or used cleaner near the tank, does anyone know what could be happening?

the anemone is still gripping the rock quite well and there doesn't seem to be any slime coming from it.

I have two t-5 bulbs , I can't think off hand what their power is but I do know that they are meant for reef tanks and judging by the clams and mushrooms' good health they hopefully are bright enough. I feed the anemone twice a week- one feeding of fresh salt water shrimp or silver sideor scallop. I also feed the tank with phyto feast and nanochloropsis a few times a week. I use a u.v. sterilizer, a refugium, and a protein skimmer rated for a hundred gallon. I also use a biodenitrator. Hopefully this helps

Believe it or not the anemone seems to be quickly recovering! It shrunk over a period of about an hour and in the last ten minutes it has inflated considerably. I am still at a loss as to what happened but the important thing is it looks like it will be okay afterall.

ditto with meowzer, my RBTA does this once a week or so. They expel all the waste and water within their body, and look shrunken and shriveled like that. Then it takes them a few hours to re-inflate with fresh saltwater.

I have noticed a fair bit of aggression on the part of the female perc since the return of the male. She beat him up so bad at one point that he developed an infection. I can't think off hand what it was but it was something that he had to fight off on his own. There is no proven medication for it that I know of. It is white and fluffy almost like cotton. so I took him out and let him recover in the quarintine tank unmedicated. After a few weeks he recovered nicely so I put him back in the fifty gallon. I hope she accepts him soon. Even in the fifty gallon he is getting beat up.

Concerning the algae, I have about four different types. I trim it about once a week. It is a bit mssy looking at times but the copepods love it! And the clam is gorgeous, thanks, I like the fact that when you look at it from the side, it is blue, when you look at it from the top it is bright green
