my puffer is sitting on a rock and it looks like he has little pieces of CC under him along with pieces of brine shrimp possibly from last nights feeding and the food keeps floating up from under him and he is just sitting there. the CC wasnt there last night. and last night he had a lump on one side of him but i thought it was because he just ate. is this normal behavior?

he has been sitting in the same spot for an hour now taht i know of. we have a black molly in the tank since it started and yesterday i saw the molly and it looked like something has been munching on him a little bit. he looked like his head was a little white and all his fins are eatin. could this be why the puffer is like this? is he eating the molly? is it bad that the molly still in there? its like impossible to get him out because he is in the rocks all day and night...

i would definitely try to find out what type of puffer you have. what if its a saltwater puffer and you ahve it in brackish water? what if the two aren't compatible? what size tank?

i know for a fact taht i have a saltwater puffer(the one that is acting wierd) and a brackish puffer who is acting normal. both are in the same tank. the brackish one has been in there for a month and the saltwater puffer has been in ther for less than a week

i'd say that's your problem. brackish water is closer to freshwater than it is to saltwater (ocean water). its basically the water that is at the end of rivers, or pools of water near the ocean. it is NOT salt water, and you're probably killing your puffer by putting it in there.

THE BRACKISH PUFFER IS OK! the saltwater puffer is not ok..or maybe it is..that is what im trying to figure out. is the puffer in the picture ok based on the things i mentioned. siting on one rock for hours at a time. not eating. now hiding for hours in the rocks. yesterday he had a lump in his belly on the right(possibly left) side of him after feeding. some one please help

ok....
you have a SALTWATER puffer in your BRACKISH system, and the SALTWATER puffer is not doing well? or am i totally misreading you?
cause if im not, you have the wrong fish in your tank. you should not have a SALTWATER fish in a BRACKISH system.

To put all these brackishsaltwater questions to rest, what is your SG at? What other fish do you have in there, or is it just the mollie and the 2 puffers?

wow... still after all i saw... i can still be surprised.. hunnie... you havea saltwater tank? you have brackish fish.. go change the oil in your car and use koolaid... beter yet lemonaid... 100 bucks says she doesnt have a hydrometer.. sorry.. thats not in the true nature of this place... please tell us what your salinity is at... then please decide what you want it to be.. salt or brackish.. then when you actually decide what you want.. REMOVE THE FISH THAT CANT SURVIVE AND RETURN IT...
