What is going on?

So I set up a extra biocube I had in the closet a few weeks ago. I added 20ish pounds of base rock and just ghost fed the tank for a few days to get a spike. It is all cycled and I have my CUC in. But the water is GREEN? I have done 2 90% water changes and it just comes back after a few days. Its like plankton is growing
All my levels are fine. And snails are living.

Yeah man, that's phytoplankton. What are your nutrient levels? To get a bloom like that, you have to have SOME kind of nutrient that's fueling it. After 2 90% water changes I can't imagine what it would be. But the key to growing phyto is light. It can't live w/o light. I would kill the lights for a week and do 2 50% water changes, one every 2 days, and then one more at the end of the week. Then turn your lights back on and see what happens.

Hm, I was dosing my tanks with DTs one time and added a lil to this tank for the heck of it. I bet thats it. I am just going to add some of this water to my other tanks
I will try a 100% let it mix of a day and do another 100%.

How do I know if its "good" plankton? Is it ok to sell to people or just give away? And I have cheato in the back, So could that be growing this?

chaeto has nothing to do with this algae. cover the tank with a blanket for 3 days and it will be gone.
