I have a 75 gal. FOWLER. I only have about 13lbs of lr though. My tank inhabitints are
1 Flame angel
1 clown (nemo kind)
1 purple firefish goby
1 domino damsel
1 cleaner shrimp
6 hermits
3 snails ( all different kind)
1 emerald crab
1 cc star
I got a neon goby from ***** and I put him in the tank. 2 days later I noticed a weird stop on him so I took him out. I don't have a qt tank (regrettably) I was under the impression I didn't have to but now I am sad I don't. I noticed about a week and a half ago that my falme angel had this white flake on one side of him. Looked like a loose scale just white. Then these raised bumps started to show up on him. All the raised bumps are the same color as him with the exception of that flake. All the bumps (3 or 4 of them) were all on one side. 1 behind his fin but most of them up around his face and none on any of his fins.
Yesterday I noticed them on the other side of him but still up around his face. I initually thought it was ick and my lfs gave me this stuff that I cannot spell but starts with a m and told me to mix it with the fish food and feed it to them. It said it was reef safe. I sais to dose every two days till simptoms are gone and I have given 2 doses so far. But I dodn't even know if it is ick. What is it? What should I do? And I have 10 gal I could use as a QT but is not set up. I also have a 25 gal that is cycled but I wanted to put sea horse in it and was afraid to put the flame angel in it in fear it would contaminate the tank and I couldn't get my sea horse for x mas. PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I forgot
Salinity 1.024
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 10

Can not exactly tell unless the fish actually starts to show signs of a parasite. Are the fish scratching?

Yes. It keeps swimming around the lr and rubbing against it. The flame angel is the only one with the simptomes right now.

I thought about taking all my inverts and lr out of this tank and putting them in my 25 gal and performing hyposalinity to the main tank but will this cause all the good bactieria in my machanical filtration and in the sand to die?? And even though rock and inverts cannot be a host for ick could they carry it to the other tank??

It certainly sounds like ich. You can remove the LR and inverts, and there is a possibility that they can carry the parasite. Perhaps remove them to a rubbermaid container with PHs?

Well I am positive it is ick now. The bumps turned white. I bought a small tank and put all my fish in it. I used an already astablished mechanical filter to put in it so I already have the good bact. I need. I lowered the salt to 1.009 over the corse of 48hrs. I quess all I have to do now is wait??

One more question. I know I need to keep my fish in hypo for about 6 weeks. 4 in hypo and 2 in raising the salt leval. (Is this correct??) When I put them back in my display tank will the ich in my tank be gone or will I need to treat my tank somehow also??
