What is my feather duster doing???

i have another post going right now about why my tank got cloudy out of know where but does anyone know what this duster is doing. it's stringlike, been doing it for about 4 hours now. i just don't know what it's doing.

ya i agree with ber, nothing serious, i saw ur other thread too, don't think it has anything to do with the feather duster

for most of the day though? it's coming from the center of the opening. it's not like tangled around the feathers.

even if it was dying, i don't think a little feather duster could you pollute your whole tank like that overnight, lol i saw ur pics in that pic thread, the one of u with beers taped to your hands haha

i hope it's not dying it seems pretty healthy to me. hehehe gotta love the beer pics...

It could be stressed because of the water condition .... some animals will release slime when this happens. It doesn't look like it's dieing though. :D

only thing i see wrong is cloudy and have no idea how. i just noticed i finally have some coraline forming on my powerhead and and sand... so i guess that means im' actually doing something right hehehe

it may have nothing to do with the feather duster at all. theres these things in my tank that came attatched to my live rock, i forget what they are called but they are these little spout looking things made of rock and they shoot out this stuff that looks like a spiders web. it might be attatched to the tube which the feather duster is in or a piece of live rock that the duster is attatched to. theres no harm in having them....simple filter feeders. thats just my input.....somebody else might have more info.

Mine does this sporadically as well and it is not dieing. In fact I have had it for over a year now. Mostly happens after I do a water change and the new water is siphoned too closely to the duster.

makes sense i did a water change yesterday. i pay attention to where i siphon the water into the tank

BLAZE i have those weird tube like things that shoot out two little tentacles too i have tons of them!! Actulley, this doesn't sound liek waht you descirbed at all lol. There all over the rocks, little tubes, and at night they have like 2 little tentacles that come out. and if u lift up a rock it completly covered. the top of the rocks only have a few. what are they?
