What is my mushroom doing

Just about to go to bed and walked by my tank and noticed this. Just my moonlights are on and this "string" caught my eye blowing around in the current. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

It could be an enemy seeking effort...the coral sends out a stinger to zap any competitors for food. Do you have a bubble wand in your tank? (first picture)
I know bubble corals do that and some frog spawn but not a string that long.

I have....it seems the umbrella's and the rhodactis do it more then the ricordias or the plain old red and blue ones...

My feather duster had two long strings coming from it (crown part)...LOL...eeewww it slurped them back into itself...I hope it wasn't poop.

No I do not have a bubble wand just dirty glass lol. So I guess the answer is that it is poop?
