what is on my clam

I'm laughing at the question, it's funny.
as far as the hitchiker, are you referring to the black thing? is it crawling? looks like some sort of nudibranch or something similar.

no, i think she means the reddish thing on the SIDE OF THE CLAM. that's why she asked what's on the side of her clam... the "black thing" happens to be a sea cucumber. :hilarious

yes sea cucumber not a hithchiker he keeps my sand bed nice and clean the thing sticking off the side of the clam that is encrusted with purple whatever it is it has tenacles and stuff. dont see what is funny about my question

there are two of them they are some kind of animal hiding in the purple thing sticking out from the clam

can someone identify this I tried to get a better picture hopefully i didnt hurt my clam when i turned it i couldnt tell it had attached itself
