what is "rapid growth"

My tank is alittle over 6mo. old, and nothing is growing much.
Nothing is dying either, so I can't complain. However, I would like to see more growth.
I've got stars, zoo's, shrooms, leathers, which apparently propagate furiously, but not in my tank (which is a 55 now)
5 fish are doing well and growing slowly...
I don't use any additives, my water/salt is rodi/io, I rarely check anything except sg anymore, because my readings are always the same or within tolerances.
I would like to have. "rapid growth"
thanks.

We joke about this at our house, I see references to growth rates described as rapid, outstanding, and one from Borneman's book staggering, but what it all means ????????.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I watched the green stars grow well for a month at LFS. Got em home, and growth stops cold.
And if these things grow so fast, WHY DO THEY COST SO MUCH?

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have shrooms, xenia, zoos, and a few other softies that are all supposedly rapid growers. I've seen some growth in my Xenia, but none anywhere else. But my carpet anemone is growing like a weed - trippled its size in just over a month.
I really wish I could get my zoos to spread.

I feed zooplykton every 3 days, shut down overflow to do it. on my 75 up 3 months, with frags since thanksgiving. some of my frags have doubled in size.

light is 250 pc

I feed kent phytoplex and phytoplan from 2 little fishes alternatly every couple of days.
I don't turn off the sump or skimmer when I feed.

I also feed Kent phytoplex 2-3 times per week. I used to dose iodine, but I quit until I get a test kit. I've heard to many horror stories about dosing too much and losing corals.
