I live in L.A. and so far the LFS around here aren't all that appealing. Most of the ones I know carry a few SPS corals and they are not even that exotic and colorful. I think so far, from the pics I've seen in this forum, people in Florida seem to have the nicest setups and corals/fish.

Is it worth a 2 hr ride one way? I heard about it years ago from a friend, he said they had fish that you would have heard about but never see in your average pet store. How are the prices?

I love going to Absolutely Fish in Clifton NJ. They are rated as one of the highest in fish stores. They tanks and clean and beautiful, but they are a bit pricey. Worth the trip.
And then again, I just love going to Ocean Gallary II in North Plainfield, Route 22 - it is next to Treasure Island. Great folks, nice selection and good prices.

Is Absolutely Fish the old Aqua Topics on rt 46? I don't care much for Ocean Gallery myself.

Fly to Atlanta and check out the new Public Aquarium... the one with whale sharks, Beluga whales, etc... (I'm so jealous of the guy that built that it's a sin...)

Clown123 email me some. I live in East Northport and I can't find one that I am crazy for. I go to a few you most likely know of.
Thanks

um.. how about this idea.. instead of visiting a fish store.. why dont you go on a freee trip to a spot that has a reef... the ticket is free.. so you only have to pay for the scuba trip.. i bet that would be better then any fish store.. ( like fly to florida then hop on a boat to go scuba, then back to the plain home)

snorkeling is a great idea! never thought of that. I'm gonna start looking around to try to put a 1 or 2 day trip together. Any suggestions on specifics where to snorkle?
Thanks in advance
