Hello, I am going to be switching to sand. I have seen a couple of types of live sand. The Natures Ocean stuff which is a little bit larger particles than this other stuff I found, which has smaller particles, but I don't remember the name. My question is which is better the larger or smaller particles? Better for keeping the tank stable and clean. Both cost the same amount so that isn't a factor.
Thanks

I used a mix of 60 lbs natures ocean with 20lbs of carib sea oolitic......makes for a good substrate in my opinion...........

I used 20lbs Natures ocean and 50lbs of Southdown sand and it worked really well. I like it a lot, and would recommend it to anyone. It almost has the same shelf life of a Hostess Twinky. (9 months)
