i currently only have an emperor 400 on there. I also have a 208 powerhead... Is just the emperor 400 enough or do i need to get some more? Thanks

thats the reason i ask. Someone said i should get a fluval 304, and also leave the emperor 400 since you can never have too much filtration. Is it necessary to get it? Will i see a big difference?

My 55 did fine with a Emperor 400 on it for over a year at which time I upgraded to a 135 gal. I don't have everything I want for the sump/ refugium etc and have been running the 135 with an Emperor 400 and an Emperor 280 since March. Does fine.

i use a 330 on my 30 gallon and it works great. Lots of filtration.
I would go with a canister filter though. And lots of LR for bio filtration.

I currently have a cpr bp2 and a tetraTec PF300 running in my 55. Was thinking of getting a 125 and use the same filters for fowlr. Can anyone tell me if that might work or more is needed.

I would think that is enough....I don't know why people are suggesting a cannister. The hang on you mention is as good as any cannister and doesn't it have biowheels also? Those biowheels are great for keeping amonia and nitrites down, and also add a lot of oxygen to the water. Did you mention a skimmer? Might want to add one if you do not have one already.

I also have an emperor 400 on my 55, I've had it for over 10 months and have had no problems in fact I like the bio wheels and how easy it is to clean.
The only thing I'm thinking might be the advantage of getting a canister is there may be less evaporation. Does anyone else agree?

I like the biowheels because they keep the dissolved oxygen in the tank higher than a cannister and also the biowheels wet/dry feature is not there with a cannister. Just get used to the fact that you need to keep some reverse osmosis water to top of for evaporation every couple of days. Lesley

What would you guys think of getting another emperor 400? They are pretty cheap online, and if it would benfit my tank and make my fish happy thats what its all about! You think that would be a good buy, or am i just looking way to much into this?
