Hitchhikers that may eat your coral or maybe they used chems with coper in it are some of the reasons for QT LR.Do you have a picture that works cause that file didn't work?

Im having trouble posting the picture, i cant get it to show up on the post.
So will the worms or hitch hikers that are on the rock die when I QT the rock? it seems llike they would just stay in the rock because im not putting anything in the QT tank to kill them.

it allows you to catch certain pests before you put them into your tank (majaono, aiptasia, mantis shrimp, teddybear crabs etc), and possibly treat for or remove them; or in the case of ich, QTing in a fish free environment will kill off the ich without medication, because ich can only survive for a finite period without a host. if you take a piece of lr that was in a tank that had ich recently and still has a viable host you could potentially infect your own fish.

Gotcha!!

It was fish free tank so im not worried about the ich. So should i be taking the LR out every few days and examine the it for pests? It is in a bucket with powerhead in it so i cant see much of whats going on in the bucket.
