What is this coral?

I rescued this from a friends tank today. It is kind of green, but not all the way out and show some skeleton. Is it a pearl bubble?

I'll probably end up keeping it She's having problems with her lighting not to mention they bought a new house and are selling theirs and she probably won't be ready to have it back for quite a while. She's going to have to stay fowlr for a while. It's settling in quite well, feeder tentacles out tonight.
Anyone got a healthy one they can post a pic of?

Looks like an octo bubble. If peal and octo are the same.....

I've had mine for over two years. I always thought it was an octo-bubble.

Very nice Jim Maybe the pearl and octo are the same. Mine is coming out nicely today. Do you feed meaty foods? I do with my other bubble.

Looks just like the photo of octobubble in Eric Borneman's book A Practical Guide to Corals. It lists other possible names as bladder, bubble and pearl. Scientific name Plerogyra flexuosa.
It adds that feeding most stony corals is not necessary, although many will accept small pieces of food, such as bits of shellfish, crustaceans, squid, and even fish. Other ahermatypic (or zooxanthellae lacking) corals require feedings for their survival.

Maybe your dogs just needed more fiber in their diet.

The dogs are spoiled rotten and jealous of the fish. I guess that was the only way they could get back. They tore up 3 different books on aquaria. Never touched any other books. When we are watching the tank they come stick their heads under our hands begging for attention.

What kind of dogs do you have?
We have a Mountain Feist (squirrel dog) that is the cutest, sweetest thing. She's great with our 2 boys.
I've been told they're great hunters, but I don't hunt anymore - haven't for 15 years.

Yes, I do feed mine but not regularly. It actually grew quick a bit with very little direct feeding.
