I have something that is growing from my live rock that I cannot identify. It is tiny hairlike things...One is a very distinct pumpkin color with black spots, the others are white with black spots..They are like tiny arms that reach out from the rock and scan the substrate. Does this sound like anything anyone else has seen ?

Methinks they are worms. I have a bunch of redish ones, black or purple with white spots and a red bristle worm. They stretch across the rocks when I turn down the light. Looking close... they have little mouths. Sound right? Good things from what I've read/heard. (Except the Bristle Worm can grow and become a problem).

do they look like very fine tentacles all coming rom the same location, if so, could be spagetti worms, they have several long hairlike tentacles that they use to transport food back to the worm itself

It sounds like the Spaghetti worms, Can anyone tell me more about these ? bad ? Good ? How big do they get ? I know the tenticle like strands that I can see are probably an inch or so long, and there are batches of these with maybe 10-15 strands from each "base" Very interesting :)
