Slacking would be a kind way to put it.
Agree with the others here a razor blade used as Cranberry outlined, vertically, and moved from side to side will indeed get this off of the tank. Of course in the future a regular schedule of cleaning the glass will prevent this type of buildup and the subsequent work involve in getting back to square one.
I use a magnet cleaned on the glass in my tank. i have one called a Nimble Nano, it's made from rare earth (read stronger than strong here) magnets. On the part that is inside the tank I peeled off the velcro that is used as the scraper and replaced it with some strategically super glued blue scrubby pad material. (not the sponge, just the scrubby material peeled off the sponge) It works great at getting even that hard to get green coralline off with little effort. Of course you need to keep up on it!!
