Definitely not a mushroom........looks more like a blasto wellsi or................Those stripes seem to be 3 dimensional...

Fungia will spawn then when the baby plate gets large enough it will fall off to the sand - bottom. If lucky the spot where it falls from will generate a new one again.

So I cut the rock off where it was at and placed it in my 12 gallon nano and was there for 3 days and then I was gone off the rock no where to be found... So if I find it I will let you know so I might be thinking that it is a plate coral because dude said it falls off and relocates it self

. Either way I can not find it as of now so please keep the resposes coming if others think it is something different. And yes it is 3dimentional.

Too late now but you should have left it alone. It would have come off the rock on it's own. Did you notice was the base hard?

So I thought it moved but it did not. I looked intoday and BAM there it is chillin right were it was before I cut the rock so I will keep everyone posted. And no I did not see if the base was hard.
