What is this ? Starfish? Harmful?

Not sure what this is ? It looks like a starfish almost but not sure. It's the grey ish thing on the stem of the coral

Asterina starfish, beneficial detrivore.

A few species of Asterina can be harmful to corals. If you never see it on a coral then I wouldn't worry about it. I always enjoyed seeing them.

Is this one on the coral ! Or would that be the longer stems on top? I thought it was on the coral where it is now ? It's gone from it now so I think it's ok?

It's on the coral skeleton, not the coral itself.
