Before I would do recommend any treatment, I would want to know more about your tank, (readings, etc). Is the fish behaving normally? Photogenic behavior usually does not suggest serious disease. [/B]
He seems to be pretty happy still... He still eats, comes out to visit, and swims happily in the current in the corner of his QT tank...
When he was moved into the QT, I did a Fromalin dip, just to cover parasites. I am using some antibiotics in the QT, since it is an open wound, as much as a preventive measure as anything.
The tank is relativly new, about 8 weeks old. This clown was one of the first fish in there, last week I had decided that the tank had cycled enough, and went to the LFS... They sold me this clown, along with 6 chromis... I was worried about putting too many in there at once, BUT they assured me that it would be OK, and that as the chromis liked to school, that I should put them in at the same time.
Well, all was NOT ok, 7 fish was WAY too much for the system, and ammonia started to increase... When it got up to 0.4 mg/L, and showed no indication of slowing, I caught all 6 of the Chromis (boy, THAT was fun!), and brought them back to the LFS, and did a fairly large (about 25% or so). The ammonia has been dropping since, and as of last night was like 0.2 mg/l. Nitrites and nitrates barely detectable. Temp is stable at about 81 deg. None of the inverts (Serpent stars, urchins, hermits, snails, shrimp) are showing any signs of stress.
The clown is looking a little worse today, not quite as perky... Hopefully he'll pull through.
