this has shown up in the last few months...i dont mind it being there if it isnt harmful because it doesnt look unappealing to the eye necessarily...but if its bad news id kinda like to get it outta there...do your best with the pic...

If you can get a close up of that then it would be easier I think.
Right now my guess is that it is some sort of sponge, but I also see what looks like some type of calcerous tubs as though you have some type of filter feeder type worm there as well.
