What is this?

This photo originally was posted by another member and it was listed as a "Vietnam Paly" but there were questions as to what it actually was. For some reason, I'm really digging the way this "thing" looks. Any idea what it is, possibly a majano anemone? or is it a Paly

Is there a skeleton in the shell? Do you know the original poster? See if you can find out, I am leaning towards a Duncan Whisker as well....

Looks like you just lost your life.

No hard base would rule out D. axifuga
as well.

I don't know what it is, But I like the way it looks so I called the place where the guy purchased it and got a rock with 15 of the polyps of it, they will arrive on Thursday........ The owner said that they all varried in color, from a speckled green to the one shown. I had thought these were duncans as well, but the guy said that they do not have a hard base and that they were insanly colored (elegance? weird).....I figured for $10 a polyp, at least they will make for some interesting additions to the tank. I'll post pics as soon as they arrive...

I've seen a lot of them at a few shops around my area and at the wholesalers. Most of them were hitch hikers on zoo colonies. I just assumed they were little anemones.

The guy I purchased them from seems to be incredibly versed in corals, I even asked him after they were payed for
if they were duncans, he said no and that they were some type of paly, guess the truth will be out in a day or so. My rock is about the size of a baseball with 15 polyps on it.

I'd definitely say it's not a majano. However, it does look like a zoanthid. But who the hell knows. I guess you will soon!

All of the polyps are elongated, almost looks like cats eyes, some are even shaped in a "L: formation, not sure if they are abotu to split or if this is what they look like, but they ALL look elongated or stretched, even the babies. There are no calcium bases and they appear to be some type of anemone...help...
