I recently noticed before my last water change that i had something forming on my glass so i cleaned my glass but didn't clean the mirror part on the back now there is a tanish brown color film on the mirror and also some of my sand is turning that same brown color.

diatomes. Is your tank new and/or are you using tap water. If you answered yes to any of these questions, than that is why you have them. They will go away on their own if your tank is new but if you are using tap water than they won't go away until you start using ro, di, or ro/di water.

Mostly, yes, it's because the tank is new, but you'll still get some algae buildup on your glass if you don't clean it regularly. Get a mag-float and run it across every glass surface a couple times a week.
