what is this?

i found this growing on a piece of my rock.. i'm not worried that it's bad because it doesn't look like anything bad for the aquarium.. anybody got any idea???

I would imagine it is a sponge growing on the rock, but I can't tell the pic is too far away.

If it is indeed a sponge, you're fine.

It looks like the beginnings of a chili coral or a carnation coral, could also very well be a christmas tree coral.
In any either case, whether it is a sponge or coral, I don't see it causing any problems at all.
