What is this?

55 gallon salt water fish tank. Home to blue chromis, yellow tang, angel fish, assorted snails (turbo), puffer fish, hairy hare slug, and a sand sifting starfish. There is also some chaeto growing in there. I noticed the other day that there was a spaghetti looking thing on the rock but that it seemed to have disappeared after a few days. then I see it today and it appears to have grown. I dont know if it is an egg trail of some sort or some alien entity that has invaded my tank. I have attached a pic to assist in id.

Thanks Bryce. I was worried about whether she/he (I think that they are hermaphroditic i have to research that) was eating enough to survive well it seems that she/he has eaten enough to produce young.

Yeah must be doing fine in order to do that right? And I'm not sure either. I know some species will do that and they aren't even fertilized.. so you may wanna look into it.
