What is with EVERYONE???

Okay, I have been reading thru a lot of the threads the past few days and it seems that people are just being silly! By this I mean, we aren't listening to eachother. When we post threads on this board or any other board we are looking for answers, suggestions, compliments, constructive criticism, or just plain old discussions about the hobby.
With that being said, why are people continuing to post a thread, looking for one of those things mentioned above and then getting upset with the responses? I'm not even going to entertain the fact that some of us have been in the hobby longer than others, nor the fact that some may be younger than others. With everything in life, people are going to differ. We like certain cars, certain foods, etc, and we all like and do things differently with our tanks. Some have success with ways they have researched or found from this board and others don't.
I know I look on this board for ideas on how I can make my tank better, and I have received negative and positive feedback on my tank. As an adult I figure it out and move on. There is no reason to bash others. Give your advice or thoughts and press on. Not everyone will listen.
Remember these threads are for learning, laughing, sometimes crying
, and most of all to enjoy the hobby with others.
Just my $.02

I'm glad someone said this..
I recently replied to a post to help someone out, and his reply just flamed me because I told him something he didnt want to or wasnt prepared to hear.
I just kinda laughed it off and told the guy "good luck".

yeah kids these days, take everything to heart... it's just sad... you post questions on this forum for help, and when you say the wrong thing... BOOM!!! #^%&^$%#$

I think both beginner and advanced aquariast alike should be more patient with one another and helpful without coming across like no one is above you.
And yet, there are quite a few people here that are just awesome at giving advice, pictures and a laugh or two.
Lets have some fun on the forum and learn at the same time. We cry together, laugh together in this crazy hobby of ours.

I totally agree with you. There have been a few posts in the past few days/weeks where if you posted something that the person did not want to hear, they flamed you because you shared an opinion that was different then theirs. It is almost as if people forget we are here to help. We do not come onto this message board to seem powerful or almighty. None of you can see me. I have no clue what everyone thinks about me, and I really do not care. I come here to talk about fish and help people with their fish problems because I like fish and I feel that I would like to try and offer to others as much as others offer to me.

yes, indeed!!!i love this place, i could campout here all night talking to you all, even though i dont know half of you...i appreciate all the help i get so much, dont think my tank would be quite as nice if i didnt have support of everyone here(although i reallly wish someone would help me with my thread in diy on building and drilling, i could use it
)....this hobby is supposed to be fun and relaxing; fighting doesnt really accomplish that
hope i never make any upset, if i do, i apologize

Again, everyone posting on this link... it's good you speak your mind. Like Diane said, this is a hobby where we know there are going to be mistakes... a lot of errors and money spent. The reason for this forum is to prevent those mistakes from happening.
I ask a lot of questions to avoid taking the big dive... so I don't blow my paycheck down the drain.
And I really appreciate all the advise given to me and to other members, because if I have a question, I know a bunch of other people out there have the same question.
Also for all those people who FLAME others because they did something wrong... you probably made the same mistake once before, so just throw in your .02 cents on how you recovered from it and then everyone will be just fine!!!

I agree totally, thats why i always tell newbies especially to listen to everyones opinion, Cause theres a lot of them here, and go with what ever he or she feels the most comfortable with. . There are a lot of people on here who think there way is the only way, and unfortunatley there are Very few things in Salt Water that are exactly the same. And one persons way may not work for the next.

Although I would agree with most of the statements in this thread, I also think the majority here are great people. There's always a few... people may consider me one, lol, but over all the fokes here are very helpful and friendly IMO.
Anyway... everyone please report posts that you find offensive or inappropriate.

I just got a dose of rudeness for no reason at all in one of my posts. Maybe I'm blowing it out of proportion, but it irritated me highly.
This is a great site. I've been coming here for almost a year now and it really feels like a community. I know people by their names and avatars and it feels great when the people you respect here come into your threads and offer you their opinions.
The best feeling ever is when you give your advice to someone and they tell you thanks and how much it helped them. Everyone here rocks!

Well said Reef Nut! I do agree with the fact that there will always be a few bad apples in the bunch but let's try not to get all crazy with the posts. If people continually see posts were people are getting slammed left and right, they will most likely be hessitant to ask questions, post success, etc.
And Reef Nut you are a great source of help!

mudplayerx- sorry you got a dose of rudeness! It probably wasn't deserved as you have helped a lot of us out with some incredible posts and lots of research!
Take the post as face value and move on.
Thanks to all who responded to this thread and lets have a happy day of posting and enjoying our hobby!

I agree with the premise here, but also keep in mind the numbers of people on this forum. THOUSANDS. You're bound to run across some testy answers sometimes, and, unfortunately, that is what sticks out, rather than the THOUSANDS of helpful and detailed assistance given by so many.
If anyone is being downright rude and uncalled for, then please press the mod report button. We do not like anyone feeling abused around here. This forum is for new hobbyists as well as advanced and, as you can see, many of both categories visit here.
Sometimes, more knowledgeable hobbyists just get frustrated because they see the same mistakes over and over, and sometime the same person makes the same mistakes over and over even after having been well-advised--which can be very frustrating to those of us who seriously value marine creatures.
Also, for newer hobbyists, it can be very frustrating to learn that all the money they just spend on equiptment, etc., ends up being wrong for the setup they want.
Overall, I think members are treated pretty well, and if they aren't we try the best we can to take care of problems.
