i got 2 of the pink tip from this site. they both thrive in my reef. in fact each is hosting a sabae clown. the pink tips even survived when my tank crash 2 months ago when ammonia spike to 2 killing half of my fish. the sand was stirred up to catch an eel causing the ammonia spike. they r tough as far as i know. it doesnt stray that much either. they like medium flow area. my sabaes bring them food all the time.

I do understand I need to go slow, however i don't have a local fish store anymore and i won't purchase from *****. I had to satisfy the 79$ requirement from this site to place an order.. i only wanted 2 clowns. One died in transport. I am done for a long while. My next step is a QT. Thanks for all your help

FYI ***** gets all their fish from ORA... Well at least around me they do. I dont necessarily mind buying from them, although I rarley do for lack of variety. You just have to look at their tanks make sure their house keeping is up to par. IMO.

Their tanks are filthy. One day they recieved a new shipment and they floated a yellow tang in the bag? Isn't acclimation key for survival? Variety is poor also. I worry about ich.

Yes it is but there are alot of people that only temp acclimate their fish. They believe the drip method causes more stress. I am by far not sticking up for ***** just stating a fact.

i never drip acclimate my fish. i just poke a small hole in the bag w a needle, and let it float in my qt tank for 1 hour, then release the specimen. luckily, hv never not lost any livestocks w this method.

I would be worried about the water in the bag contaminating my tank? Although, I guess the fish would already be conatminated. I thought this was bad practice even with fresh water?

its the qt i floated on, so its ok. this method i feel is lot safer and less stressful for the fish.

Have you had the Sebae clowns for more than a year? It's not really unusual for a pink tip to "host" a clownfish, but I've never heard of the fish surviving.
