Pretty much your typical American mutt, for sure some German, I have red hair and fair skins so probably either irish or scottish.
My husband is a direct descendant of the Lewis part of Lewis and Clark. Kinda neat.

Of course I can't possibly let it be that simple without listing some facts. Genealogy is one of my purposes in life.
The furthest ancesters that I have found
My Name: Thomas Birdsall
Direct decendent of Henry Birdsall and wife Agnes Kemp, Henry was born in 1585 in England and came to this country in 1632 - ( 372 years ago). They were married in 1610 in St. Stephens, Norwich, Norfolk, England.
George Greenaway born 1817 in England, wife Susanna Morse, she was born 1820 England. Never did find out exactly where they were born other than England.
James Gout was born 10 Sept 1810 in Sutterton, Lincolnshire, England. He married Mahala J. ? in England. She was born 12 Oct 1813, England.
Matthew King, born 1738 in Avondale, Lanarkshire County, Scotland. He married Jean Hamilton on 23 july 1762 in Stonehouse Lanarksire County, Scotland, she was born in 1737 Avondale, Lanarkshire County, Scotland
Theodore Brassow was born 03 Dec 1849 in Germany, and died 13 April 1912 in Michigan. He married Mary Ghirst. She was born in 1858 in the Detroit Michigan area.
Have found a David Sessions and Phebe in Vermont back in 1802 and 1808, previous David Sessions in 1790 Census and 1800 Census, but have not found out where they came from before that. I have a host of others that I can not trace beyond the Ocean. Still working on the Clan Campbell on my mothers side, nice common name like that isn't easy to trace.
A Grandmother also informed me long ago that I am also part American Indian. Very hard to trace.
So if you want it short.
England
Scotland
Germany
Native American ?
Possibly found a few Prussian connections but nothing positive yet.
Thomas

Mostly German and Native American....my mom has tried so hard to trace our roots, but the records get really shaky the farther you go back, and the name spelling changes for no reason other than bad record keeping..
The Native American side is close to impossible to trace past my great grandparents who are 100% Cherokee, and my German side was in the south too long since the southern states kept very crappy records from what I've seen. My mom has been looking at cemetaries, churches, and whatever all over the place.......almost a hobby I guess, but she doesn't get very far with 100% facts when it gets 200 years plus. My last name is Sexton, and it is german.......church worker or something, but try growing up with --- in your name!:D

Is it just me, or does it seem like almost everyone thinks they have some sort of American Indian in them, and I'm not just talking about this thread. I've had this conversation many times cause people always ask me if I'm Italian. And I've noticed a lot of people always say "I've got such and such Indian in me". If that's the case, then American Indians sure did ....."get around". But, now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever heard a white person say,..... "I'm English, Irish,......... and African", which is much more likely. Just a thought.
