well, maybe I should clarify... just so NW2 doesn't feel left out

I WAS a vet-tech... then I got tired of all the abuse and horrid pay, so I left the biz & started my own cake design firm. Now I make cakes, cupcakes & toppers for parties & weddings & I LLLLLLOOOOOOOOUUUUURRRRVE IT!!!

I know what you mean. It upsets me when people cant pay and they have to put the animal to sleep. Im thinking to the vet "how do you sleep at night!"

Bassets r only bad b/c their veins r impossible... I happen to love them, but maybe I'm biased bc my basset is A PERFECT. ANGEL.

I would never EVER trust a German Shepard or an Akita, EVER. And u know who else is really bad and skittish? Weimaraners. They give you this eye-ball and they have that silent way about them before they try 2bite your face off. No fun at all.
Oh, and iguanas are HECK to work with. BAH!!!! Freakin razor tailed demons!!!!

There is someting seriously wrong with you if you think Weims are bad

It's ok, Mimz....I don't feel too left out. I still loooovvvee the animals...just wouldn't be comfortable with the euthanasia or the really bad injuries. I'd feel horrible. And you're the best at making cakes! Can't wait til I renew my vows! lol I know that the decorations you make will be perfect.
I can only hope that my cake skills will be half as good as yours so they don't look too out of place. lol BTW....got a carrot cake cooling on the stove...

Just excited that I'm not the only professional welder around here...Besides, how many women can say that? lol

Are you talking about in a clinic or out in the real world? pit bulls and akitas never gave me problems. Bassets were not bad they just were squirmy and wined alot. EVERY single rott that came into the door tried to bite, but then again they were probably trying to protect their owner.
I have an Akita and he loves everyone.

I'm only talking about the breeds in a clinic setting - I know some Akitas personally and they're real teddy-bears, but when you have to restrain them for bloodwork, they're a whole different creature; you've GOT to watch your face.

there would only be something seriously wrong with me if I didn't watch my face around them when restraining them for medical examinations and procedures. They may be, and typically ARE good dogs when NOT in a clinic setting - but we were talking about the breeds in terms of their behavior IN A CLINIC. It has been my experience as a vet-tech and the experience of my co-workers that Weims are not to be trusted on the exam table.... or getting them ON to the exam table either, for that matter.

I clawed my way into middle management

I manage people who manage data in the "single industry that people think can go to heck because they blindly believe that no American's actually work in it" oil industry. :p
