Unfortunatly, I just lost my diamond goby, he had a great personality and was a great sand sifter...
I'm not sure if I should buy the same type or go with another.
Could you please help by telling me what is your favorite goby and why?
Thanks in advance!

my fav is the yellow watchman gobie , he'll protect shrimp , or if no shrimp peaceful fish who share his cave ....like dartfish etc....very cool fish

Thanks, I like their look too but I don't know anything about their behavior.
Could you please tell me more on their personality, e.g Do they sift sand or stay hidden in their burrow most of the time?

Mine shifts sand around his cave....but not the whole tank....but then again he's well fed...hehe....he looks like a cross between bulldog and a frog .....a face only a mom can love ....just adorable , and he never bothers any other fish , just "protects" those who want it

I like my Yasha Haze Goby, I really like his coloration. But him and his shrimp buddy hide a lot, so if you want an active goby, don't get this.

and he's out and about most of the time, not hidden , but within 3-4" of his cave all day...and during feeding time he's quite active...so cute !

Thanks, I'm planning to go to the fish store tomorrow. I'll check if they have some!
Anybody that like this goby or another one?

I have a pink spotted watchman goby. He's out ALL the time. He isnt paired with a shrimp, but he lets the cleaner shrimp hang all over him and give dental exams. He sifts most of the tank's sand too.

It is a beautiful goby, I've seen one last time I went to my LFS.
I've heard they may be aggressive, any problem with yours?
How big is your tank?

Yup, that's my little guy, you can see the antennae of his shrimp at the bottom left of this pic.

I like my diamond gobie the best. He does only sift about a three inch range from his cave. I added a baby yellow face and he started taking a three foot territory over ! The pink spotted gobie can be very territorial as far as gobies go ( which isn't too far ) they can also get 6 inches but I think they are the most attractive.

Yep, Diamond gobies are really fun to watch moving sand around. They are not the better looking but it seems they are the most active and entertaining...

mine is always out, and i love her. for the first month or so she hid quite often, and ifi close the door hard or make a loud noise she darts into her cave. but now she will just chill about 4-5 inches from her hole chillin
