Crash (The one with Sandra Bullock)
Because...
I liked the double meaning of almost every screen. I liked how everything they showed, every little detail had significant meaning in the end. Nice example of "full circle".
While making a moral point in the process.

All time favorites are;
Passion of the Christ- The movie just did something to me on every level.
Saving Private Ryan- Just for the Realism and the story was good as well.
The Exorcist- The most scariest frigging movie ever
Braveheart- Made me want to buy a Sword a Skirt and runaround outside screaming "FREEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDOOOOOOMMMM!"

How about three tossups, couldn't pick a favorite.
Blazing Saddles/Animal House/Fast Times at Ridgemont High for laughing your Butt off funny that you didn't have to think about to get.
Casino/The Untouchables/Tombstone for historical drama that is somehwhat accurate and very entertaining.
Star Wars/Patton Both were entertaining but also could make you think about some very deep subjects. You can take something different away from any of the Star Wars episodes everytime you watch them. Patton showed how blurred the line can be between duty and honor and the pursuit of personal glory.

Personally, I like movies / shows with good cinematography. Scenes with panoramic shots in the back ground, zoom ins from miles away, etc. really push my "cool" button. The other thing that pushes my "cool" button is relateability. Give me characters and dialog that makes me say "that's what I would do" or makes me believe that character would really do that. basically, directors and writers are what makes a movie for me. I dont' know any by name. Actors are too often used as sign posts that movie studios hang up in front of the theatres to draw audiences. You don't need a big name actor to make a good movie. You just need the right actors.
"Hero"
"Battlestar Galactica"
"Farscape"
"Letters from Iwo Jima"
to name a few.
my other favorite is the drop dead hilarious check your brain at the door movie. I only buy those on DVD though. Wouldn't pay $12 to see on the big screen.

Sooooo many to choose from. There are some from the classic list that are all time favorites but then there are new movies that you consider your favorite for thus far.. genre has alot to do with it too.
I will list my 3 favorites although I hold sooo many as my favorites its difficult to say these are them, but they are on the list.
1st... Black Hawk Down, I love military movies and as far as being historically acurate this one is dead on. Its also one I can relate too in history, it happened in a time I can actually remember and recall.
2nd...Ferris Bullers Day off.. Just the feel good movie of the century... Everyone knows it everyone loves it... Everyone that watches it wants to be Ferris Buller.
3rd..."300" One of the best ancient war movies I have seen. The reason? It wasnt the gore or blood I remembered as much as it was the story.. the fight for freedom.. the perserverance of the 300 spartans to fight for what they believed in. And it just happened to be one of the bloodiest movies I have ever seen. But done in such a theatrical way, made all the difference in the world.
