I am upgrading my lighting to a coralife 21'' 2x65 watt, and I am wandering whitch K I should get. the 6,700K, 10,000K, or the 50/50. the other 65 watt bulb will be a antic. I'v heard that the 6,700 is better for coral growth. Is that true?
-Thanx! :happyfish

6,700K would probably give you the best growth, but it will look pretty yellow.
10,000K would still be good for growth and would also be more pleasing to the eye.
50/50, i would not reccommend this for your main bulb, since half of the bulbs wattage goes to actinic light. but if you wan't to use this instead of the other actinic, that would give you good growth.
i would use a 10,000K and the 50/50 if i wanted the best growth.

Right now I have two 32 watt bulps one is 6,500 the other is blue. If I went with the 50/50 and 10,000 K bulbs would it be bluer/whiter than it is now? :notsure:

Probably not much different.
Go with 14 k and the 50/50 if you want less blue but not too much yellow. JMO.

Thanx for the advice! I'm going to go with a 10,000K and a 50/50. :jumping: then I will have a toatal of 5.2 watts per gallon. I hope that is enough light to keep my anemonie alive because I can't afford MH's.
