Yeah, but don't you end up enlarging or stretching the picture, which then is distorted? I am looking at the Bravia. Sony TVs are outrageously expensive.
TangW you will kill yourself with those kinda work hours. When do you find time for fish tanks?

No Matter Which Tv You Go With You Need To Remember That Especially With Gaming And Static Images, Plasmas Will Have A Burn In. Lcd's And Dlp Will Not And Cannot Leave Burn In Images On Your Screen.
I Have A 50" Hitachi Rear Proj Lcd. Great Picture And Don't Ahve To Worry About Burn-in. Oh Yeah, Forgot To Mention, If The Tv Is A Widescreen, And You Are Not Watching A "letterbox" Tv Program (non-hd) That Too, Can Burn The Screen.

I just got a 20 inch Sharp LCD for $450. It is not widescreen because I I dont want to pay money for wasted space on each side of the screen nor do I want to adjust the image and have it all squished. It is also not hidef. They only offer like 8 channels in hi def I believe. Anyway, I love it!!

we have a 68 inch panasonic HDTV. the thing is a beast. take slike 10 seconds to power up. we also have the bose 123 home theater system. 1 su
oofer and 2 speakers mounted on the wall. doesint look like it can make it loud but BOY it can, BOSE is amazing!
The bad thing about the tv is if football isint in HD its really fuzzy cuz the picture is stretched to fit the screen. But in HD 68 inches of football neverlooked better.

I recently purchased a Hp 50 plasma and a Akai 32 lcd, both hi-def and the smaller one for games and what not.
And it has a built in dvd player cool feature.
Hi def is around the corner for all channels.
Make sure you get a blu-ray player... Awesome

I have a 52" Hitachi CRT rear-projection in the living room that is going on 2 years old. I will be replacing it sometime next year. That was my first HD purchase. I am happy with it, but from day 1 I regretted not going with a ceiling mount projector. The replacement TV is going to be a DLP projector.
Just picked up a 26" Sylvania LCD widescreen for the bedroom. Awesome picture. And great viewing angles. :jumping:

Its horrible, not to mention I am building 3 spec homes, an internet cafe/deli & a LFS. There could be 100 hours in a day and that still wouldn't be enough...but I am retiring at 35, so it will be worth it.

Directv offers locals in HD with the H20 recieve, plus channels 70-79 are HD, having DiscoveryHD makes it all worthwhile, plus everything will be going the route of HD, Directv recently launched anther sat only for HD, I think they are saying 150 HD channels by mid '07

I would have to steer anyone away from anything with a build in player...I have read many horror stories of them failing...I do agree with Blu-ray(HDDVD) but wait for prices to drop.....I was stupid and bought an up converting DENON and paid like 900 bucks...now I am regreting it!

I have a panasonic plasma and I love it ....was gonna go Sony but over priced for a tv maker who doesn't own a plasma tv factory...they only put their names on the front of the plastic ... :scared: plus panasonic plasmas always get good reviews.

So, plasma owners are not worried about the short life of the TV? Or is everyone buying a new TV every few years now?

i guess plasma owners care more about quality and style. i mean if i was rich enough id buy plasmas for the quality. id rather enjoy the best technologies for a short time rather than stick with a crap tv for like 5-10 years.
man...i wish
