Hello Everyone
I'm looking to purchase a new digital camera. What camera would you buy, or which one do you currently have. I currently have a coolpix 4600 and I just cannot get the quality of pictures that I have seen on this site.

Thanks

I have a Kodak 6-something. It's a pretty decent camera. I'm a not a decent photorgrapher. I will say that checking out this site is worth it http://www.dcresource.com/
They have a reviews page that is very informative.
Good luck finding the right camera for you.
Love,
A

I manage a camera store and am a photographer. In my experiance, the D70, though a great camera, is overkill. The D50 has all the quality for $400 less. Team it with a 60mm micro lens, or do as I do, use a regular lens, (I have a 28-200) and add close-up filters, save $.
Can't argue with results!

What about the depth of field preview, I would be using it for some serious macro shots....
?????Is 6 meg pix enough  ???I worked at Ritz camera through college and had a Nikon 2020, man things have changed.....
Thanks

I just bought a new cam last week. did not want to spend the money for slr ,so I went to two camera shops and best buy and circuit city. compared the canon s3is , fugi 5200, sony h5, and the kodak z612. bought the z612. I know it is not slr but it has awesome reviews and for the money I personally think it is the best one to be had in its range..12x optical zoom,6.1 megepixs and superior image stabilaization...but thats just my opinion.....got it for $400 out the door with a 2GB mem card and extended warranty
u can check reviews at stevesdigicams.com

Sounds like a sweet camera.
Could you take some close up pictures of your tank and post them so that I could see the images it produces... :joy:
Thanks

I use the Olympus e-500. I have a few different lenses that I pu on and i's great being able to use a digital camera to take a picture, review it, and make the adjusments necessary to get a better picture. That's one of the huge advantages that people have now with digital cameras. Otherwise you'd have to wait to get them developed and see what you did wrong.

thanks...I have only had it for about two weeks..there alot of settings and manual modes that I have not even used yet. But is fun to play with. I love it. And out of the cams I looked at ,it felt the most solid and best for my hand.
