Probably gonna have a pretty dirty tank with all of the feeding needed huh?
That and a lot of other dead corals if they're not secured.
Anything that touches my sun coral gets zapped to death..

I have seen orange, yellow and black.
Thats really all there are, you'll find some morphs that are a bit pinkish, but typically just the 3

I was just wondering. Can I feed my baby sun corals baby brine shrimp?
IMO, brine shrimp thats been frozen or alive for over 5 hours loses most nutritional value for them. I would go with some tiny mysis, or cyclops

my green colt destroyed a few sun coral polyps.
a LFS near me has a greenish black sun coral.
if you have PINK ones, i'd think they are a dendro instead of a sun coral.
If you are going to try to keep them I would suggest you make a feeding dome for them. Take a pop bottle and cut the bottom or so half off. Then you can place the bottle over the coral and feed down through the top. This does a couple of things. Keeps all the food in one place so that what does not get eaten can be siphoned out. Keeps the darn shrimp and crabs , if you have any, from taking the food out of the corals mouth before it has a chance to eat.
personally i feel that's more of a bother than anything. i use a turkey baster, feed the crabs, stars, snails by squirting some on the sand, then feed the sun coral. its fun watching them battle over a piece of food heh.

I got it for $5 and it has 5 heads. Is this a good price for a dendro?

Agreed but when I had mine the cleaner shrimp would not leave it alone no matter how much I fed it first.
Just a option!
I had the same problem, I cured it with a chunk of silverside, if your shrimp is as bold as mine this should work fine.
If your sun coral needs coaxing to open then wait to feed the shrimp. Squirt a small amount of cyclops over the coral. Wait for it to respond, when it does feed your shrimp a chunk of silver side. Mine waits for his, swims right up and snatches it right out of my hand. When I do that he is busy for like 15 minutes, my sun coral is free to eat and I dont have to wave my turkey baster around it like an idiot chasing him away.

can you post a pic? $5 for 5 heads is great price for either a sun coral or a dendro, but i've just never heard of pink sun corals.
