It's in a saltwater tank with a Yellow Tang, a Brittle Starfish, and 3 Damsels.

How can they survive in full saltwater if they are brackish fish?

From what ive read they can be acclimated to saltwater. When there born they start out in freshwater and as they mature move into brackish waters and are more tolorent to water changes. What other fish are in there with it? And how big is the tank? They arnt bottom feeders, there predatory catfish and will eat what fits in its mouth. the also can grow up to 2 feet. If you get poked my one of its spines you should get medical attention, ive read about people getting pretty sick from these things.

oops...i lost the link and cant find it. It basically said the venom from the spines on its fines is an anticoagulant (which causes alot of bleeding) and depending on how much gets in you it can be harmless to causeing helth problems. Its not likley to kill you though.
