Your going to need a much larger system to bread any fish. Your best beat would be to put the pair you plan on "breeding" in your maintank and than setting up some fry tanks which would take alot of work and alot of research.

It doesn't really work that way. You can't just put fish in a small tank and expect them to breed in a week. It can take well over a year for a pair of clownfish in a tank to lay eggs. Saltwater fish are alot differen't than freshwater.

You have to realize Coral that it wasn't that long ago when no one was breeding marine fish. When I first got into saltwater fish more than 10 years ago it was practically unheard of. An owner of a LFS near me was one of the first guys to breed clowns, and he has a degree in Biology or something from the University of Chicago. It's just not easy to do.

I have three pairs I have been waiting for them to start spawning . I wish it was as easy as freshwater fish . My buddy breeds freshwater angels and wish clowns paired up and mated fast as them .

about 10 years ago in my 10gal QT had a pair of yellow tail damsel lay eggs several times. But never was able to get the babies to survive. Wish I had this form back then.

Years ago, I bred fresh water angels and discus to support my addiction.( I guess the new p.c. word is "aquacultured") Even tho these fish had been in captivity for generations; they would not spawn unless everything was to their liking. Sorry, I can't even imagine a pair of marine fish spawning in a tank that small. (Brine shrimp, maybe.)
