What Kind of Invert Us This?

Got my box of live rock in today. Had several hitch hikers. No idea what this is and if it is safe to put in my reef. Any ideas?

That looks like a Pistol Shrimp.
Some species can hunt other Shrimp and I think you might have one of those. Do you have another small tank you can keep it in?
If you can get some good closeups I might be able to get a positive ID but until then I would not keep it in your display tank.

All I have is 10 gallon, no skimmer, just a power filter. I will work on the close - up

This is the best pic I can get. Its a small shrimp, about a pinkie finger nail size.

definetly a pistol. I'd pitch it as they are very hard to get out of your tank.

I agree, don't put it back in the tank. It could be entertaining is a small species tank though.

IDK claws seem to be the same size here. Don't pistols have one larger claw than the other?
