what are you planning on keeping? if you go with the halides you wont have to upgrade down the road.

I've got a 75 gallon reef and have 2-250 watt MH's (just switched from 10k to 14K) to see if I like the colors better. So far the 14k's really make the colors of the corals really pop! I also have the Orbit with 2 65w dual daylight, and 2 65w dual actinic. I like what I have and haven't had any problems.

Hey I have a question about the light. I also have 75 gallon and planning to do a simple reef tank. My question is what kind of like do you for the 2x250 mh because I'm planning to buy a mh light too soon, but right now I'm still searching for a good light and reading more info about each light before I make my decision on buying one. Well I have an idea what kind of light I want is Current US Orbit light fixture MH with 2x250 10k with T5's light, with 9 lunar lights and 9 Actinic light. The total watt is about 700 above I believe, but I'm the only thing I don't like about this is I'm looking for MH light that is 2x250 with 14k US Orbit complete fixture, but I could not find one.
Any suggestion on buying a good light or where I could find one.
Thanx

If you're not totally set on getting MH, a T5 fixture would work great too and should be quite a bit cheaper. I just put a Tek T5 6x54 watt hood on my 75. With those lights you should be able to keep whatever you want.

teks are pretty good, but for the little extra money, id go with an aquactinics fixture, because the par is generally better than teks. the 4' tx5 fixture has 5 bulbs (this fixture is on my 55 and it really kicks butt) and the solar flare has 6 bulbs that are powered by icecap ballasts and the bulbs run at about 84 watts or so. if you wanted to go with halides, you could probably get away with 175 watt bulbs, as the 75 is not very deep, and most light demanding coral are usually kept higher up in the tank anyway. the aqualight pros are pretty popular.
