What kind of MH bulb is the best?

Google Sanjay Joshi's lighting tests. MH bulbs perform differently on different ballasts so it's hard to say which one is best overall, but Phoenix, XM, Ushio, Radium, and Reeflux are some of the top brands that I can think of.
Look into the 14k Phoenix.

there is no best. there's always a compromise between growth and looks: ushio 10k and 14k, aqualine 10000 13k and XM 10k are popular quality white spectrum growth bulbs (yes one is 13k and one 14k but they are still mostly white burning bulbs). phoenix 14k and radium 20k are by far the most popular visually appealing bulbs.

I love my Aqualine AB 10k 150w. It is not a yellow color but infact a blueish white. The PAR is amazing too. But if you are looking for something more blue, the phoenix seems to be the most popular. Now that my corals are really growing out, I am thinking of switching to phoenix.
Ive also considered reeflux 12k.

you will hate the reeflux 12k in 150w DE version. It's very dim and blah looking. Only time I would think about running a reeflux 12k would be if I had 400wers and was using there coralvue matching ballasts.
