what kind of naso is this???

I bought this naso tang 7 months ago and it still hasn't developed any new colors. It's the tang with the gray body. I understand that juvenille naso's will have mainly a gray color, but as they mature, the should start developing new colors.
It's about 4 inches in length and has spots all over it. Under the blue lights, its spots appear blue, like the blue spotted naso tang. But under blue and white lights, the spots appear dark gray. When it's under stress, it changes its body colors to a very dark gray..almost black.
What kind of naso tang is this?? When do you think it will start developing the colors of the naso tangs I see online and at the lfs?

Please excuse the clarity of my tank. I split most of the live rock in two and rearranged the live rock. So, it's not as clear as it usually is. Thanks.

Man, you have a beautiful tank!! As I was scrolling down the screen, my eyes turned twice as big when I came across your pic. Awesome job!
The tang I'm referring to looks almost identical to the tang pic you posted. Of course yours looks a whole lot better.
I got my tang from a lfs and they had labeled it as a naso tang. Nothing else, just a naso tang.
If it is a blue spotted naso tang, then I'm in deep trouble. My tank is only a 90 Gallon. From what I know, you have to put blue spotted tangs in a 200+ gallon tank...like your tank.
Whatever kind of fish it is, it has a great personality. I love that fish.
I thought blue spotted tangs also have a blue body. Not just blue spots. Am I wrong?? My tang has a gray body...almost silver when it's having fun...but changes to almost black/dark gray when it's stressed.

Mine does What you describe too, changes color when upset, normal for this fish, Ive also been told they are also refered to as
Vlamingii Tangs, they will change when then get a little older and can get up to 12 inches , mine is a healthy eater loves all types of seaweeds and meaty foods, Good luck with yours:)

hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like a white spot unicorn tang to me. If it is, then you have an awesome fish. They are not real easy to get ahold of, at least healthy ones.

plum70rt, said blue spot tangs are also referred to as vlamingi tangs. I'm leaning more towards vlamingi/blue spot tang as well.
Regardless, this fish has an awesome personality. I hand feed it, and it loves to eat. It goes crazy when it's time to eat. I don't think this fish ever gets full.
