I just got my Aqua UV but i need the parts that screw into the unit. What exactly am i looking for? Do i get it from a *** store or a hardware store? Pretty lame that this doesn't come with it! Any help would be appreciated i'm going to go tomorrow to get it! thanks, Kevin

Kevin,You are right that it's stupid not to come with them. But they will be cheaper at LOWES,or ACE HARDWARE,or HOME DEPOT than your LFS. Just take the UV with you to be sure you get the right threads. Also, you will need to put some teflon tape on these threads before you install them.

Mr.Salty, thanks for the input. What does this part look like? I need to hook my return hose to it-so, is it just a part that screws into the uv and has an end that my return hose fits over? Also, it said something about glueing the o-ring on(whats this?). Thanks Salty!

I have an AQUA also and there was nothing in mine about gluing an o-ring on. The only o-rings are at the end caps and they should not be glued. You may want to reread the instructions. And the part you need is called a "barb" and it is exactly what you described.

Mr. Salty, Well i have it installed and all is well-thanks for your input. This UV is really easy to deal with-I like it. That wiper is pretty cool too, and the fact that the bulb is supposed to last 14 months! With this and my new Kent R* O unit my tank should be in good shape. Mr.Salty you have the kent R* O too if i remember correctly, do you ever do phosphate or nitrate tests and have them show a positive result(having them in your water)? The instructions said that it might do that-i was just wondering!

No I don't have a RO unit. I don't even use RO water. My tap tests out fine. Just a little phos in it. Never really caused any problems. But my LFS is installing an RO unit,so I will probably buy it from him. I do support my LFS.

I support my LFS too, I've spent $7,000.00 in one year!!!!!! I've had my tank now for 1 year and 2 weeks.
