I use Instant Ocean and it's currently the most popular, and the most acclaimed

I have used instant ocean from day one. I tried red sea coral pro and did not like it so I went back to IO

If you search the forums, you will find this question comes up a lot. I think everyone has their favorite brand because it is what works for them. All of the brands have a little different chemical mixture, so find one that works for you and stick with it. I happen to use Kent Marine.

Now is there certain salt for different setups?? For example a fish only tank or a reef tank.
Well if you are doing fish only then it dosent really matter as much. But for reef some have more calcium and dkh so you dont have to dose as much. So it dose not matter to much what salt you use as long as you use the same kind every time and you make sure your levels are good.

tropic marin pro is the best ...and at lfs it up to twice the price of IO but at premium aquatics its 18.00 for 50 gallons...thats is cheaper than IO and reef Chrystals

I've used Reef Crystals from day one and it works for me. My reef tank looks great, everything's healthy.

I switched to IO reef crystals when going from FOWLR to reef and just tested for the first time tonight: calcium (420 ppm), dkh (12), and ph about 8.3. I have done 3 20% changes on my 55 gal tank w/reef crystals so it seems to be good stuff.

Thank you! I think I will try the reef crystals.........Tropic Marin sounds great but is twice the price! its sounds like reef crystals
is the winner! :)
