What kind of Skimmer and sump?

I just upgraded my tank and I didn’t have the first one built.
First I bought a 65 gal acrylic; the more I look at it I wasn’t happy. So last night I purchased a 90 gal glass with an overflow.
Here my question.
Can I use the 65 gal for a sump tank?
If the 65 gal is not the best thing to use what kind of sump should I look at?
Also, what is the best skimmer out there to run?
Thanks for the input.

the acrylic tank would be perfect for a sump. if you wanted to drill holes for plumping etc you'd be able to do so. for skimmers look into either a coralife superskimmer, aquaC, or asm. these are some of the best, most popular, but often more expensive skimmers on the market.

You could use the 65 as a sump, but it depends on the dimensions and where you plan to put it.
Many people use 30 gals in the 75 or 90 gal tanks under the stand.
If you have room in your stand and think it will work, go for it
The more volume the better

That what i thought the more volume the better. If you guys thought it would be good i was going to build my stand around the 65gal sump for the 90gal tank. My good friend is awesome with wood. he could build a house out of a stick. We are going to start this friday and that's when all the pictures start.

Ah, My 90 is 48Lx18Wx24H, 65 is 48Lx18Wx17H
I'm building a custom stand.

That must be a custom 65. I do not think that they come in that size. Thats still tall. Remember you need to have enough room over the sump to get in and maintain it.

Deltec, which is what I have, are better than all of those skimmers
Maybe the only better and severly expensive is Bubble King

Right, the typical (like mine) 65 is 24" tall and 36" long.
Deltec and H&S are considered some of the best skimmers, but can get pricey. Also, Tunze has some new ones that are supposedly very good.
ASM is better than Coralife or Aqua C.
