I found this worm a couple of nights ago and it looks like it is coming out of the foot of my LTA..I know it is not actually coming out of the foot but my concern is ...since it is so close to the LTA could it be harmful and just what kind of worm it is ...good or bad?? I have searched the hitchhiker threads and did not see anything like it .

first ..sorry about the crappy picture but he was popping back and forth and that was the best shot out of about 10..also I did some more searching and the closest thing I saw was a peanut worm but it was all brown and not black and white stripped like this guy. I am assuming peanut worms are good...someone correct me if I am wrong. PLEASE

Peanut worms are fine, but if you got your finger that close it would have run for cover and closed up on itself. Try and get a better pic or give a detailed discription if possible.

Thomas..that is not my finger ..it is the foot of my LTA..it actually looks like it is coming out of the foot but it is sort of wrapped around to one side and buried in the sand. ..If I can get a better pic I will post it but for now I will assume it is harmless. While trying to see where this mystery worm was last night, I found 2 pretty good sized bristle worms on the live rock beside the LTA also . It has been at least 3 months since I added anything new to the tank so I assume all these critters have been there a while and I am just now finding them. I need to play with the settings on my camera and see if I can get a better close up of the worm . Thank you for taking the time to answer my post.
