I have my 37 gallon "reef" tank, basically has some corals in it.. some fish, exc i know its just too big for a nano despite it being posted there.. is there anyway a mod could move my post to this forum? does it qualify for a reef tank?

I would say yes it qualifies. IMO if it's smaller than a 20 gallon then it's a nano. as for what makes a reef tank a reef tank I would say corals only no fish. once you add fish then it's mixed reef.

um...corals...like the ones found in coral reefs

So what about all of the other things found in the coral reef?
So could you have?
A fish only
A coral only (frag tank)
An invert only

A reef has fish. A reef tank has fish. (or usually has fish)
Mixed is usually meant that it's sps and softies, since most tend to lean toward one or the other.
A nano can be a reef tank. Nano means small, small can also be reef.
sheesh, you guy s are all confused.

if your tank has corals than you have a reef tank. simple as that.
if you do not have any corals than you have a fish only tank.
